I am an experienced multiplatform communications expert, with an accomplished track record of creating audience-centred strategies, creative and impactful content, insight-driven innovations and editorially-rigorous solutions to issues.
My deep understanding of a wide range of media channels has been developed while working at senior levels at Sky News, ITV News, The Sun, three high-profile government departments and top digital agency, Edmonds Elder.
I have led teams of social media specialists, creative content makers and digital marketing experts, plus ran major news sites and TV news shows.
Throughout my career, I have quickly adapted to the changes in how we consume media, information and entertainment, and seized upon the new and emerging opportunities to better connect with the people I’m trying to reach.
I’ve embraced the potential of Twitter back then and TikTok now to revolutionise how I find and tell stories, successfully demonstrated a quicker, more engaging way to update the news online with the ITV News livestream and delivered a more punter-friendly approach to covering politics with SunNation for the 2015 election.
I have refocused efforts in Whitehall to create sharable, informative and powerful content rather than rehashing press releases.
I have driven cultural change in workplaces and newsrooms to better serve those we’re trying to target, when competition for their time and interest has never been tougher.
Outside of work, I never stop developing my multimedia skills and testing formats – from building successful social accounts about wrestling and alcohol-free beer, to presenting and producing Sorry You Went Viral, a show about the human side to popular posts.
